May is Water Awareness month! But anytime of the year is a great time to learn about water efficiency.  Central Basin Municipal Water District, Metropolitan Water District and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County have continued in partnership in the Water Protector program to an adapted virtual reality experience. This new development is in response to social distancing and finding ways to continue educational opportunities has three components. The first is a virtual reality experience takes the girls on tour of the Colorado River Aqueduct, the State Water Project and . The second is a zoom meeting with a water industry professional to discuss what they learned and to talk about careers in water. The third and final component is a home audit performed by the Girl Scout. The worksheets along with a copy of the audit report will be submitted to Central Basin staff. The troop will receive a Water Protector Patch and Conservation Kit! For more information about this program, please contact Sandi Linares-Plimpton, Conservation Manager at sandilp@centralbasin.org
